👟 Run Toward Something 🏃🏻♀️
Earlier this year, I did a 'personal goals' writing exercise where I outlined what I want to do for the next little while.
Looking back at it now, I see that what I wrote was a list of things to stop doing (stop working 80 hours a week, stop saying yes to everything, stop wasting down time, etc.).
I realize, in retrospect, that instead of writing a list of goals, I was writing a list of things-to-run-away-from.
Instead of deciding what I wanted to do, who I wanted to become, I was trashing myself for who and how I was.
I was so fortunate to find an amazing coach who guided me toward looking at that and deciding what I want to run toward, rather than what I want to escape.
It helped me flip the script on myself and start reaching for what I want, instead of hiding from what wasn't working.
Now, I'm running toward my future.
What do you want to run toward?
**Important note: The word 'run' is used figuratively here. Those of you who know me must know that there is no way I would voluntarily 'run' toward anything. #notanathlete **
